Nick Saban Updates Malachi Moore and James Burnip's Injury Status
USA TODAY Sports

The No. 11 Alabama Crimson Tide is set to host the Arkansas Razorbacks on Saturday for homecoming as the season continues. The Crimson Tide is now leading the SEC West division thanks to it's 3-0 conference record and specifically after Alabama won in College Station, TX this past weekend.

The win came at a cost as Alabama lost safety Malachi Moore and punter James Burnip in the game to injuries.

Crimson Tide head football coach Nick Saban gave a status update on Moore, Burnip and Alabama receiver Ja'Corey Brooks on Wednesday morning's SEC Coaches Teleconference call.

"Yeah, Ja'Corey's been able to practice. Malachi and James will both be game-time decisions, depending on the progress they make between now and then. We're preparing as if neither guy would be able to play but I can't say that emphatically."

Alabama has a bevy of wide receivers available if Brooks is still banged up this weekend. Last week cornerback Trey Amos took most of the reps when Moore left injured, while cornerback Terrion Arnold adjusted into the star position. Kristian Story also saw limited action.

Kicker Will Reichard was thrust into punting duties as travel rosters are limited for road games. Sophomore Nick Serpa from Foothill Ranch, Calif. is the only other punter listed on the Alabama roster. Serpa has yet to appear in a game in his Alabama career.

The Crimson Tide and Razorbacks are set to square off on Saturday at 11 a.m. CT for the University of Alabama's homecoming weekend as both teams fight for standings in the Southeastern Conference.
