On Saturday, the Milwaukee Brewers signed left-handed starting pitcher Aaron Ashby to a five-year extension.
The deal locks Ashby through the 2027 season and includes club options for 2028 and 2029.

Sorry, had an old-timers flashback with Andy Ashby, should be: Aaron Ashby's contract guarantees him five years at $20.5M. If options picked up and escalators hit it is worth $46M.

"This is a person we feel really good about, and you add to that the exceptional talent he's displayed throughout his minor league career and now at the beginning of his major league career. It's really impressive," Brewers' general manager David Stearns said on Saturday. "We feel really good about investing in that type of person and player. He feels really good about the Brewers, and when you combine those two things, you're able to get to agreements like this that I think really benefit both sides."
