Bobby Green  and  Jim Miller  had an incredible clash in the early prelim bout of the blockbuster UFC 300 card. The lightweight staples went to a bloody war, with Green coming out victorious. ‘King’ Green had long aspired for a UFC 300 card placement and was willing to go the distance for it. Dana White ‘s $300K bonus might have been a big driving factor for the outcome.

There was much angst around Jim Miller appearing for the trifecta event, having done so in UFC 100 and UFC 200. In the second prelim at the T-Mobile Arena, the fighter came out bloodied after a lengthy 3-round slugfest. Green edged out the 155-pound division’s “Iron Man” via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-25, 29-26). After the win, he was ready to celebrate as such.

I take them as they come, I jump on every opportunity. Sometimes you fall short, but as long as the sh*t is exciting... You don't wanna know. You really wanna know [what I'd have done]? I'm going streaking... I'm gonna go to jail. I'll cash it when I get out... Bobby Green at the UFC 300 Post-fight presser

At the post-fight conference, Greenn mentioned why he went the distance with the veteran. He also said that finding the effort to his liking, he’d have gone “streaking” on a wild rampage if he won the $300K bonus. Green has always been vocal about not backing down from risks. A clash with a veteran tiptoeing around old age was one. He even told ESPN MMA‘s Megan Olivi later that beating Miller was just “another day at the office.

Green and even Miller performed admirably. Miller’s advanced age didn’t give him a pause, so their high-octane battle was to the fan’s liking. Although he didn’t receive a performance bonus or “Fight of the Night” bonus, Dana White later said he would take care of the fighter and compensate for his worthy efforts.

Bobby Green phases out Jim Miller in a long battle at UFC 300, explains calling out Paddy Pimblett next

Bobby Green vs. Jim Miller was quite exciting for the featured prelims. Appearing on the UFC 300 Fight Eve Preview Show – UFC “Tale of the Tape” for UFC on TNT, Jim Miller said he doesn’t plan on dragging it out till he’s too old to do it. Minutes before the UFC 300 broadcast went live, he told co-hosts Michael Bisping, Adam Catterral, and Nick Peet to give it all in the historic UFC 300 clash.

Like a man possessed, Miller opened up strong and rocked ‘King’ early in Round 1. Concurrently, his athleticism being of a guy half his age, delighted his fans. However, what seemed like lazy grapples from Green surely and slowly gassed out the rival. Miller’s eyes busted midway through the scrap. Green won, chipping away with minimal punches and heavy clinches.

After the official decision, he called out Paddy Pimblett rather vibrantly in his octagon interview. Later, he revealed the reason for his callout to Pimblett to TNT Sports.

There’s no beef, I don’t have no problem with him... His style is different, you know, but Paddy said my name... I didn’t mention him. So once he mentioned my name... I’m just answering your call. Say my name and I shall appear... Bobby Green in his Post-fight interview to TNT Sports

Green mentioned having no animosity but cautioned Pimblett of his power. He also lauded Miller’s durability yet again. Green boasts 1,845 significant strikes in the lightweight division, making it the most in divisional history. It looks like Green could test the might of Paddy Pimblett.

With the Manchester card soon approaching, Pimblett needs a higher caliber opponent and Bobby Green checks all the boxes. It remains to be seen if the UFC books a clash between Green and Pimblett.
