AS Roma duo Chris Smalling and Leonardo Spinazzola could make their return from injury this weekend against Inter Milan.

The Giallorossi will host the Nerazzurri at the Stadio Olimpico in an important Serie A clash on Saturday evening.

The Romans have recently undergone drastic changes. They sacked Jose Mourinho and replaced him with club legend Daniele De Rossi.

The 2006 World Cup winner shifted from a 3-5-2 formation to a 4-3-3 system.

De Rossi has found early success, winning his first three fixtures since taking the helm at Trigoria.

Nevertheless, the young tactician will now face the first stern test of his spell as he hosts the high-flying league leaders.

But luckily for the Italian manager, he may receive a boost ahead of the big weekend showdown, with two of his players returning from injury.

According to Il Corriere dello Sport via FcInterNews, Spinazzola will certainly receive a call-up for Saturday’s fixture.

The Euro 2020 hero has been dealing with recurring injuries recently which took its toll on his performances.

Roma Stars Chris Smalling & Leonardo Spinazzola Could Receive Call-ups Vs Inter Milan

The Italian wingback will be looking to reignite his career under De Rossi’s guidance. So we shall see if he’ll take the pitch this weekend.

Moreover, Smalling could finally join the matchday squad after missing the last five months of action.

The former Man Utd defender is unlikely to start a match following his lengthy absence, but he could be fit enough for a spot on the bench.

Moreover, the struggling Renato Sanches could also join the list of Roma returnees. The Portugal international would settle for a spot on the bench alongside fellow summer signing Houssem Aouar.
